Americana Wedding Inspiration at the Olympic Museum of Flight

We had this great plan to schedule this styled shoot to coincide with the 4th of July because, duh, look at it. With it's general Americana theme, the subtle red, white, and blue color story and the freaking WWII PT-17 Stearman airplane in the background, that time frame would have been just perfect! However, life gets in the way, doesn't it? The stars didn't align and the post didn't get done. Oh well! It's here now! This shoot was inspired by the ever sweet and ever adorable Kelby of Kelby Maria Photography. Seriously, this girl radiates sunshine and calm vibes. Despite the fact that it felt like it was roughly 105 degrees and 99% humidity while we did this shoot at the Olympic Flight Museum, she maintained her cool and rocked it.

Honestly, all of the vendors involved in this shoot were a dream to work with. From Shane with Oak & Fig Floral, who created an amazingly textured bouquet and swooping garland (and managed to keep everything looking fresh in the beating heat) to Sarah with Sarah's Inkwell who came to the shoot and hand lettered the top plate as a totally unique place card, we really had a dream team!

Now let's talk about the amazing couple in this shoot. Derek and Courtney (amazing, so sweet, adorable children) were married 9 years ago in a private ceremony; there was not a lot of fanfare involved. There wasn't even a photographer to capture the magic! Because of this, we knew we had to make sure Courtney loved the dress from Weddings with Joy, her hair, and her makeup (by the talented Rose and Crown Salon). We wanted these photos to be special for the two of them and even used their actual wedding bands for the photos. And don't forget those pies!
