Katie and Matt are amazing. They quickly became some of our favorite people; they were so warm, welcoming, and sweet! They even invited us to their rehearsal dinner where my boyfriend and Matt became fast friends. The pair currently reside in Texas and we planned their wedding from afar, one of our favorite things to do!
The whole week leading up to their wedding was a will it, won’t it in terms of rain. At the last moment, we decided to tent their dinner space and hope for the best during the ceremony. It was Katie and Matt’s lucky day because, although it rained all morning during set up, the clouds cleared just in time for their ceremony where they were wed in the Robinswood House garden under a unique triangle arch created and adorned by Bixby + Pine.
In lieu of a traditional “first look” Katie opted to have that special moment with her father while her mom and sister looked on. It was so sweet and there wasn’t a dry eye anywhere! Following their ceremony, they hosted a tented cocktail hour and reception. Special details included their puzzle guest book, a unique mixed frame escort display, a His and Hers cookie bar, and a wedding day wine made especially for the bride and groom by their friends who own a winery in Texas. The couple then danced the night away with their closest family and friends. We couldn't have asked for a cooler couple or a smoother wedding day! Also, the two recently welcomed a little boy into the world; a first for us at Willow & Ivy Events! Don't miss their feature on Seattle Bride and Groom.
